Attendance
Attendance in school matters -the benefits are enormous. We want every child in school every day. This is beneficial for their social skills, personal development, academic success and for safeguarding reasons. Research has shown that attendance at less than 96% seriously affects a child’s education.
Attendance will be closely monitored and when it falls below the government recommended 96%, we will contact families and work together to support our families and try to ensure that attendance improves. If your child is not able to attend school, please contact the school office and inform us of their absence. If we do not hear from you we will try to make contact via telephone and in some cases we may need to make a home visit. If we have concerns over persistent absence, then we will make contact with you and we may invite you in for a meeting with a member of the attendance team.
Reminder: Our doors open at 8:30am. Registers are taken at 8:40am. Arrivals after 8:45am must come to the main entrance and sign in - this will be recorded as a late in the register. Attendance after 9am will be recorded as an unauthorised session. It is very important that your child arrives at school on time and that they attend school as much as possible. There is a morning and afternoon registration session during the school day. If your child starts to feel better, they can be sent in during the day.
