At Bamford Academy we have high aspirations for every child, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We identify needs early, work in partnership with families, and make sure staff have the strategies they need so that every pupil can succeed. The Orchard - SEND Support Base
Launching September 2026
The Orchard is Bamford Academy’s specialist SEN Support Base. It is a calm, nurturing space designed to help children with additional needs feel safe, build confidence and reach their full potential, with a particular focus on social communication. Find out more.
Our school SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is Mr J Shepherd and he can be contacted by phoning school on 01706 631496 or by emailing the school office on office@bamfordacademy.co.uk 'For the attention of the SENDCo'.
Appointments can be made to see the SENDCo to discuss any SEND issues or concerns you may have. As SENDCo, Mr Shepherd coordinates the support SEND children receive and works closely with parents and external agencies.
