Year 5 & 6 Careers Week - An Inspiring Success!
Year 5 & 6 had an unforgettable Careers Week filled with exciting visitors, hands-on learning, and plenty of inspiration for the future. The children were absolutely enthralled by each session and have come away buzzing with new ambitions and ideas.
A huge highlight was our visit from Ray at Paris Bubbles, who wowed the children with his passion, creativity, and the story of how he turned a unique skill into a thriving business.
We also had the incredible opportunity to meet Martin Colley, a BBC cameraman. Martin shared fascinating stories about the amazing people and places he has filmed, and the children even took part in their very own BBC live call. It was an unforgettable experience!
Our session with airline pilot Harry Tait was another standout moment. The children were captivated by the world of flying, and many have now decided they want to be pilots themselves! As Alana from Year 5 said, “It was amazing, I feel like I want to have a go at so many of these careers!’
Throughout the week, pupils learned about the huge range of careers available to them and the key skills they’ll need—such as resilience, teamwork and organisation.
Overall, Careers Week was a huge success, sparking curiosity, raising aspirations, and opening the door to exciting possibilities for our young learners. Thank you so much to Mrs Hunter, who worked tirelessly to set up this amazing experience for our pupils and of course, to all the speakers who gave up an afternoon of their time to come and tell us all about their fascinating jobs - without these people the event could not have happened.
