Bamford Boost!

Bamford Academy are running a new FREE breakfast club - Breakfast Boost! - in line with the UK Government's commitment to offer every pupil a free breakfast.

The Early Adopter Breakfast Club (EABC) scheme is a Government programme that will provide FREE breakfast to primary-aged children in schools. The scheme is currently in an early phase to test different approaches and learn from different schools. Bamford Academy has been chosen as the first school in the Rochdale borough to trial the FREE Breakfast Club under the Government guidelines of 30 minutes free supervision and breakfast.  

Bamford Boost! will commence on Monday 28th April 2025.

What are the benefits of Breakfast Clubs?

•  Breakfast Clubs can provide a warm and welcoming start to the school day. 

•  Breakfast Clubs can help pupils socialise with children of different ages. 

•  Breakfast Clubs can provide an opportunity for children to participate in activities that they might not otherwise have time for during the school day. 

•  Breakfast clubs can help children settle into the school day earlier.

Sessions include:

Paid Morning Provision (7:30-8:00am): This will replace 'Peacock's' at a reduced cost. To find out more information, please email: office@bamfordacademy.co.uk.

Free Morning Provision (8:00-8:30am): Every pupil in our Academy is offered a place at the FREE Breakfast Club as part of the pilot scheme, at no cost. Every pupil will receive a breakfast and have the opportunity to get involved with the activities on offer.

Pupil's accessing the free provision will need to arrive no later than 8:10am to receive breakfast.

After School Provision (3:00-6:00pm): This provision will provide play activities, homework support, where necessary,, themed/seasonal craft activities, a substantial healthy snack - provided by our catering company, Mellors - plus fruit is available throughout the session.

The popularity of the club means that there are only a few vacancies available.
