Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Bamford Academy we have high aspirations for every child, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We identify needs early, work in partnership with families, and make sure staff have the strategies they need so that every pupil can succeed. This page explains our approach and links to Rochdale's Local Offer.

Our school SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is Mr J Shepherd and he can be contacted by phoning school on 01706 631496 or by emailing the school office on office@bamfordacademy.co.uk 'For the attention of the SENCO'.

Appointments can be made to see the SENDCo to discuss any SEND issues or concerns you may have. As SENDCo, Mr Shepherd coordinates the support SEND children receive and works closely with parents and external agencies.

How does the school support children with SEND?

We identify needs early and work in partnership with families. Staff receive the information and strategies they need so that pupils with SEND can succeed in lessons. See our SEND page and the Rochdale Local Offer for more information.

Who is the SENCO and how do I contact them?

Our SENCO can be contacted via the school office. Contact details are on the Contact page. We encourage parents to get in touch as early as possible if they have concerns.
