Extra-curricular and Enrichment
At Bamford Academy, we believe every child deserves experiences that go beyond the classroom. Our enrichment programme gives pupils the chance to explore new interests, build confidence and discover talents they didn't know they had - supporting our core values of Respect, Perseverance, Kindness, Acceptance and Responsibility in everything we do.

Trips and visits
At Bamford Academy, we believe that learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Our trips and visits are an important part of school life, carefully chosen to complement our curriculum and give children opportunities to experience their learning in new and exciting ways.

Cultural enrichment
Cultural enrichment at Bamford Academy gives pupils opportunities to explore different cultures, creativity and the arts, helping them to develop their understanding of the world around them. As part of the Create Rochdale network, we work alongside local organisations to ensure children have access to a rich and diverse range of cultural experiences that help them feel safe, healthy, successful and heard.
Visit the Create Rochdale page to see how we're involved.
Children's University
At Bamford Academy, children have the opportunity to enrol in Children's University, a fantastic programme that encourages a love of learning, raisies aspirations and celebrates achievement beyond the classroom. Pupils can log their extra-curricular activities both in and out of school, earning milestone certificates and the opportunity to celebrate their achievements at a special graduation ceremony at the end of the school year. Rochdale Children's University is run by Altus Education Partnership, of which we are proud to be part of.
Visit the Children's University page to find out more and how to get involved.
Wellbeing enrichment
Through our myHappymind programme, children learn about how their brains work, recognise and understand their feelings, and develop strategies to help them manage their emotions.

Community and partnership enrichment
At Bamford Academy, we are proud to be part of our local community and work closely with families, organisations and partners to make a positive difference. Through community events, charitable fundraising and shared experiences, our children develop a strong sense of belonging, learn about different cultures and traditions, and discover the importance of helping others. From supporting local food banks, the Poppy Appeal and Springhill Hospice to taking part in health and wellbeing activities, science events and celebrations such as Eid, Harvest and Christmas, we encourage our pupils to be active, caring members of their community.
