Investing in Your Child's School

Over recent months, Altus Education Partnership, the Trust that Bamford Academy belongs to, has invested almost £1.5 million in our building, outdoor spaces, safety systems, IT, learning resources and new SEND provision, so every child can learn and play in a safe, welcoming environment.

The Department for Education provides capital funding to Altus Education Partnership. The Trust chose to invest it in Bamford Academy, and we are grateful. We want every child to love coming to school. That starts with a building that is safe, warm and well cared for, and spaces where every child is supported to thrive. Here is what we've been doing, and what it means for your child.

A more secure school

Our new Orchard provision

The Orchard - children learningThe Orchard - SEND space 1

We have invested in resourcing for The Orchard, our new SEND provision, so children with special educational needs and disabilities are supported in a space designed around them.

The Orchard sits alongside our wider SEND offer, so every child can learn, feel safe and make progress. Find out more on our SEND information page and read how we support children across the curriculum in [SEND at Bamford Academy].

Better tools for learning

  • Chromebooks, devices and IT infrastructure so children build confidence with technology
  • New curriculum resources to bring lessons to life across subjects. See our Subjects pages.

Why being part of Altus Education Partnership matters

Bamford Academy is part of Altus Education Partnership, a Trust of local schools working together. Being part of a Trust means we can plan and fund large improvements that a single school could not afford alone.

Altus received capital funding from the Department for Education and decided to prioritise Bamford Academy. For our families, that means:

  • Major building and safety work delivered faster, and to a higher standard
  • Better spaces for learning, play and specialist support such as Orchard
  • A Trust that invests in children's experience as well as buildings

Find out more about the Trust on the Altus Education Partnership website.

What this means for your child

Children learn best when they feel safe, comfortable and inspired. These improvements help our pupils feel secure when they arrive, enjoy their playtimes and have the tools and support they need to learn well.
