Altus Education Partnership, on behalf of Bamford Academy, is consulting on a proposal to reduce the school’s Published Admission Number (PAN) for Reception from 60 to 45 pupils from September 2027.

The proposal reflects a sustained reduction in demand for Reception places, alongside changing local demographics and falling birth rates, and aims to support the school’s long-term financial and organisational sustainability while continuing to provide high-quality education.

The proposal will not affect current pupils, children already offered a place, the school’s admissions criteria, or its catchment area.

The consultation is open from 1 October to 15 November 2026, and parents, carers, staff, local residents and other interested stakeholders are invited to share their views.

All responses will be considered before the Trust Board makes a final decision. Comments should be submitted by 15 November 2026 to info@altusep.com.
